Cress Creek Commons Water Polo

Welcome to another exciting season of water polo at Cress Creek Commons! This is a great sport for boys and girls! As always, in addition to improving our water polo skills, our goals, and those of the Naperville Subdivision Summer Water Polo League (NSSWPL), are to have fun while promoting team work, sportsmanship, fair play, ethical behavior and integrity. As you know, water polo is one of the fastest growing sports in North America, and, as a result, there will be a few changes this year:
1. Practice – Special thanks are in order for the Cress Creek Commons Home Owners Association Board of Directors, which once again agreed to provide additional pool time for practices. As a result, practices will occur Monday through Friday from 12:00 to 1:00 PM, and we will likely alternate the U11 and U14 teams daily to improve the quality of the practices.
2. Schedule - All games will be played at local pools throughout Naperville, and are typically scheduled on Sunday morning and Monday, Wednesday, and/or Friday evenings, to avoid conflict with swim meets, which are held on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Games are currently being scheduled and a detailed schedule will be issued later in May.
3. Fees - This year’s fee will be $72.00 per child, which will cover all games, practices, coaches, NSSWPL fees, and includes a team spirit t-shirt.
4. Please complete the registration form (on page 2), including shirt size, and make your check out to “Cobra Water Polo.” In addition, each participant must complete “2 copies” of the “waiver” provided on page 3. Mail and/or drop off the registration form and 2 copies of the waiver to: Dan Roberts, 1417 Calcutta Lane, Naperville IL 60653 (there will be a drop off box on our front porch).
5. Each participant must also be a member of the American Water Polo Association, which requires annual fee of $25.00. Registration information is available at http://www.geocities.com/napervillewaterpolo/nsswpl.html.

Program Waiver and Release of All Claims
and Assumption of Risk
Please read this form carefully and be aware that in signing up and participating in this program, you will be expressly assuming the risk and legal liability and waiving and releasing all claims for injuries, damages or loss which you or your minor child/ward might sustain as a result of participating in any and all activities connected with and associated with this program (including transportation services/vehicle operation, when provided).
I recognize and acknowledge that there are certain risks of physical injury to participants in this program, and I voluntarily agree to assume the full risk of any and all injuries, damages or loss, regardless of severity, that my minor child/ward or I may sustain as a result of said participation. I further agree to waive and relinquish all claims I or my minor child/ward may have (or accrue to me or my child/ward) as a result of participating in this program against the Cress Creek Commons Homeowners Association, the Naperville Subdivision Summer Water Polo League, the Naperville Park District, the Team indicated herein, officials, coaches administrators, agents, volunteers, and employees (hereinafter collectively referred to as League).
I do hereby fully release and forever discharge the League from any and all claims for injuries, damages or loss that my minor child/ward or I may have or which may accrue to me or my minor child/ward and arising out of, connected with, or in any way associated with this program.
Warning of Risk: Recreational programs are intended to challenge and engage the physical, mental, and emotional resources of each participant. Despite careful and proper preparation, instruction, medical advice, conditioning, and equipment, there is still a risk of serious injury when participating in any recreational program. Understandably, not all hazards and dangers can be foreseen. Depending on the particular activity, participants must understand that certain risks, dangers, and injuries due to inclement weather, slipping, falling, poor skill level or conditioning, carelessness, horseplay, unsportsmanlike conduct, premises defects, inadequate or defective equipment, inadequate supervision, instruction or officiating, and all other circumstances inherent to indoor and outdoor recreational programs exist. In this regard, it must be recognized that it is impossible for the League to guarantee absolute safety.
